UT Pre-Alpha – Redeemer geändert, bessere Spawn Selection

Das Mai-Update für die Unreal Tournament Pre-Alpha ist erschienen. Diesmal haben die Entwickler die Funktionalität des Redeemers etwas verändert. Auch an anderen Waffen, vor allem an der Flak Cannon, gab es ein paar Anpassungen. Epic Games hat außerdem das „Spawn Selection System“ überarbeitet. Und natürlich gab es auch mit diesem Update diverse Verbesserungen am Spielmodus Blitz.

Redeemer funktioniert jetzt anders

Die Bedienung des Redeemers hat sich geändert. Dieser feuert nun immer eine ferngesteuerte Rakete ab. Diese kann während des Fluges durch Drücken der primären Feuertaste zur Explosion gebracht werden. Drückt man die sekundäre Feuertaste, dann wird die Fernsteuerung beendet und die Rakete setzt ihre aktuelle Flugbahn fort. Außerdem breitet sich die Explosion nun doppelt so schnell aus als bisher.

Beim Granatwerfer wurde der minmale Schaden erhöht und das Abprallverhalten angepasst. Wenn eine Granate auf dem Boden liegt, dann spiegelt nun ihre Rotationsgeschwindigkeit die Zeit bis zur Explosion wieder.

Die Flak Cannon hat wieder einmal Änderungen erfahren. Zwar ist die Streuung nun konsistenter, dafür ist der primäre Feuermodus auf weitere Distanzen weniger Effektiv. Die Splitter haben einen kleineren Radius, wenn sie abgefeuert werden und schrumpfen nun viel schneller während ihres Fluges. Übrigens hat die Flak Cannon auch neue Sounds spendiert bekommen.

Verbesserungen an Blitz

Beim Spielmodus Blitz wurden zunächst einmal die Wartezeiten verkürzt, so dass die Spieler schneller loslegen können. Beim Start einer Runde gibt es für die Verteidiger nun richtungsweisende Pfeile, die sie zu wichtigen Arealen und Pickups führen.

Bei der Einnahme von Rally Points, die einen Durchgang steuern, erscheint nun eine Fortschrittsanzeige. Dadurch können die Verteidiger einen anstehenden Durchbruch rechtzeitig erkennen. Auf der Map „Loh“ gibt es erneut Veränderungen am Layout. Diese sollen dazu führen, dass die Angreifer nicht mehr so einfach flankiert werden können. Auch die Rally Points wurden etwas angepasst. Insgesamt soll sich die Map im positiven Sinne linearer spielen.

Bessere Spawn Selection, Bots im Warmup

Ein neuer Algorithmus soll dafür sorgen, dass die zur Auswahl stehenden Spawnpoints vom Spiel zufälliger bestimmt werden. Außerdem sollen dabei nun alle verfügbaren Spawnpoints einbezogen werden.

Wenn man ein neues Match startet und auf Spieler wartet, dann kann man nun Bots im Warmup zulassen. Dadurch hat man zumindest Gegner, um sich warmzuspielen, bis schließlich andere Spieler beitreten und das Match starten kann.

UT Pre-Alpha Download

Jeder kann die Unreal Tournament Pre-Alpha kostenlos spielen. Es wird lediglich ein Epic Games Account benötigt.

Das fertige Spiel wird ebenfalls kostenlos zur Verfügung stehen. Die Entwicklungskosten werden über optionale Microtransaktionen abgedeckt.

Weapons

By default, weapon allows firing any mode if any ammo left, not just min ammo for that mode.
Redeemer
Fire and Alt-fire both fire a guided missile.
After 0.5 seconds, guided missile can be detonated (fire) or released to continue its trajectory (alt-fire).
Redeemer explosion is in 3 stages instead of 6, takes 0.54 seconds instead of 1.08 to fully explode.
Grenade Launcher
Increased grenade overlap size and min damage.
Tweaked grenaded bounce behavior.
Grenade rotation rate now correlates to fuse time remaining.
Flak Cannon
Made flak spread more consistent.
Reduced Flak shard starting radius 40->36.
Increased Flak shard radius reduction rate 150->450
Made sure flak shard spawn locations are always valid, not embedded in geometry.
Lightning Rifle
Fixed lightning rifle projectile collision.
Lightning Rifle max ammo 28->24.

Movement

Fixed being pushed away from dead teammates.

HUD and Scoreboard

Don’t alpha out damage numbers as fast, and slightly increased minimum size of damage numbers.
Tweaks to end of match XP display.
Show clan names in spectator slideout.
Fixed HUD kickback on translocator alt with no disk out.
Updated minimap armor icons.
Fixed link pull indicator left on after running out of ammo.
Rocket lock indicators scaled by resolution.

Hubs

When returning from a hub, go to the hub menu instead of the main menu.
Fixed rules for competitive CTF and Duel Showdown rulesets so can start with bots if desired.
Removed Duel Showdown from default rulesets in hubs.
No join option for in progress competitive matches in hubs.
Fixed Hub menu does not include scroll bar in the right panel when more than 7 games are active.
Deathmatch default ruleset now has max 6 players.

Misc. Gameplay
